Fine Art Print Description
|
Fine Art Prints for the Shangri-La Art Studio means the creation of a copy of a watercolor
painting that looks so much like the original that you cannot tell the difference. Fine Art Prints
have been around for a long time, but recently with the invention and proliferation of digital
photography, digital scanners, and Ink Jet printers a new fine art creation process was
invented. The new process produces a Fine Art Print sometimes called a Giclee (gee-clay).
The Fine Art Print process we use at the Shangri-La Art Studio starts by taking a digital
photograph of the original watercolor. The digital image is loaded into Photoshop Elements to
create an image that matches the original. The color tweaking is done by Marilyn, the artist.
The next step is to print the Fine Art Print using the HP9180 Ink Jet printer using HP Vivera ink
and Hanhnemuhle fine art paper. This combination was tested by The Wilhelm Imaging
Research, Inc. to have a permanence rating of over 250 years when displayed under uv
protective glass. The Fine Art Print is then numbered and signed by Marilyn and it is framed
using the same matte color, frame, uv glass combination used for the original.
